After becoming disenchanted by the options of ginger beers available, I set out to produce a world class ginger beer, albeit merely for home consumption (so I thought). After a few months of tinkering with the recipe I decided to start sharing my concoction with friends and family. The response, to my surprise was overwhelmingly positive and I even had a bar manager at a restaurant in San Francisco ask me to bottle it for them to use in their cocktails. After some trial and error I was able to produce and package my homemade ginger beer for them to use. From there a few more accounts inquired and a few more after that until I had a mini production facility running in my kitchen. Needless to say my wife wasn’t thrilled with the state that this left our kitchen. As time went on the response from customers and the public became so great that I literally outgrew our kitchen. Noticing that there was no other product on the market like mine including anything locally produced my family and I decided to take that leap and formed our company, Pearson Soda Works. Our first batch of Bette Jane’s Ginger Beer, was produced in Healdsburg, Ca. on July 8th, 2014. Today, along with Origianl Ginger Beer, Bette Jane's produces Original Tonic Water and Original Club Soda.

Bette Jane’s is named in honor of my mother, Bette Jane Pearson, who lost her long battle with breast cancer when I was just 8 years old. Although this ginger beer recipe wasn’t passed down from her, this is my way of paying homage to her and to help other people and families that have been stricken with this disease. Along with my mother having battled breast cancer both my sister and grandmother are survivors as well! Please know that when you buy a bottle of Bette Jane’s Ginger Beer we are donating proceeds to help support breast cancer research and families affected by.
